Kingpins China-Hangzhou Draws Attendees from Levi’s, Zara, H&M and More

Kingpins China-Hangzhou closed out its two-day event at ADM More with a standing-room-only runway show that brought together international brands, new sustainable innovations and a hand-dyed custom gown created live at the event.

“Our show in China keeps surprising us,” said Vivian Wang, Kingpins Show CEO. “We continue to see energy, enthusiasm and a shared love of denim from the brands, the mills, the students, the public all showing up with genuine curiosity and creativity. We’re excited to gather and grow the Kingpins community, and that is why we keep coming back.”

The event took place May 21-22 and saw attendance from brands like Levi’s, Zara, H&M, Jack & Jones, Fila, Decor; 12 Storeez, Gap, Next, Gloria Jeans and Toyou.

Dinghui Fashion sponsored the runway show, which included styles from Toyou and Jack & Jones China, alongside pieces from Kingpins’ MSP (Most Sustainable Product) collection. MSP garments spotlight sustainable innovations from show exhibitors. Additionally, Dinghui designed several looks for the show, including the finale gown.

Other highlights from the event including an indigo dyeing session hosted by Simwood and WeiShan San-Yi. Visitors could dip anything form shirts to shoes. Panther Denim/Tat Fung Textile invited attendees to customize tote bags using botanical dyes. And The Vintage Showroom presented rare garments salvaged from a 19th-century shipwreck.

Dynamic Denim sold a collection of 365 pairs of selvedge jeans at the show—with a special request for the buyers. Dynamic encouraged each buyer to wear their jeans daily for a year to allow their body and lifestyle to shape the wear pattern. The manufacturer wants the buyers to wear the jeans to next year’s Kingpins China-Hangzhou show to compare patterns.

Organizers said the show’s hybrid format delivered on two fronts: a dedicated B2B sourcing floor for industry professionals, and a full public program of workshops, retail activations and inspirational initiatives.

Kingpins Show aims to replicate the hybrid format next year when it returns to downtown Los Angeles on Jan. 12-13, 2027.
